ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- For the second time in the 2012-13 season to date, Ouachita’s Monica Williams has been named the Great American Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Williams received the honor after leading her team in a tightly contested 75-72 win and helping to stretch the Lady Tigers’ win streak to eight games. During the game, Williams posted her third double-double of the season with a team-high 23 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Williams wasn’t just a force on the offensive end of the floor though, as she also recorded three blocks and three steals en route to a Lady Tiger victory.
To this point in the season, Williams ranks in the top five among GAC players in scoring, rebounding and in blocked shots.
