The Red Wolves (45-18) received 607 points and one first place vote, which was 88 points behind No. 3 Nebraska’s 695 points and three first place votes. Central Missouri maintained the No. 1 spot with 757 points and 17 first place votes. Maryland-Eastern Shore was able to keep its No. 2 position with 716 points and six first place votes. Vanderbilt dropped to No. 5 with 589 points to round out the top five.

A-State was able to move up three spots from seventh to fourth thanks to impressive performances in their last two tournaments. ASU went 21-5 and won third place in their host tournament, the Mid-Winter Invitational, and in the Prairie View A&M Invitational. During the span of those two tournaments, the Red Wolves have defeated No. 5 Vanderbilt three times, No. 1 Central Missouri twice, No. 6 Wisconsin-Whitewater once, No. 3 Nebraska once, and No. 2 Maryland-Eastern Shore once.

Arkansas State also had three all-tournament selections, including one tournament MVP during that span. Sophomore Sarah Lokker won the tournament MVP and senior Rachael Gittings made the all-tournament team at the Mid-Winter Invitational. Junior Ashley Rucker made the all-tournament team during A-State’s last tournament at the Prairie View A&M Invitational.

The Red Wolves resume action this weekend, Feb. 15-17, at the Morgan State Invitational in Baltimore, Md.
