BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Harding freshman Corey Bassett’s school-record breaking performance in the 60-meter dash highlighted the Bisons’ action Saturday at the Samford Multi and Invitational held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Bassett’s 6.92-second effort in the preliminaries broke the previous record of 7.00 set by Burt Green in 2003. Bassett then duplicated the time to finish fifth in the finals. Sophomore Donatella Luckett was 13th in the 60 meters with a time of 6.99.
Harding’s men had two sixth-place finishes in the relay events. The distance medley relay team of Woody Seagren, Jacek Dybowski, Eric Wilson and Andrew Evans placed sixth in 10:47.33, and the 4×400-meter relay team of Dillon Bagwell, Kory Howard, Kevin Naceanceno and Landon Belcher placed sixth in 3:20.14.
Harding’s next action is at the Lone Star Conference Meet on Feb. 23-24 in Lubbock, Texas.
