Eagles Baseball Team Suffers First Setback Of Season

Clinton, Miss.-Rhodes College scored three runs in the seventh to break open a close game and hand Ozarks its first loss of the season Saturday night with a 8-4 win at the Millsaps College Invitational.

Leading 5-4 after six complete innings, Rhodes (1-1) had three hits and scored three runs in the seventh to cease momentum of the game. Ozarks (2-1) did hold a 3-2 advantage after three innings when Mitchell Powers recorded an infield single to score Freddy Prince in the first and Nick Brill and Tony Morales each had RBI in the third. Prince singled in a run in the fourth to put the Eagles in front 4-3, but Ozarks wouldn’t score again.

The Eagles had seven hits in the contest and Rhodes finished with eight.

Danny Gable (0-1) took the loss in relief.

Ozarks will host Central Baptist College February 12 at 12:00 pm.
