FULTON, Mo. – In what Lyon College golf coach Julie Church called her women’s team’s “best team round in several years,” Bobie Jo Cooper shot an opening-round 82 Monday to tie for eighth as the Scots posted a fourth-place score of 352 to lead four American Midwest Conference teams heading into the final round of the William Woods University Spring Invitational played at Tanglewood Golf Course.
The Scot men’s squad team also had an excellent round, as Kyle Raberding shot a 74 to tie for seventh place as Lyon College shot a 313 to grab the sixth spot and lead three AMC opponents heading into Tuesday’s final round of play.
“It was a good first round by both teams,” Church stated. “The weather was cold again this week, but everyone stepped up their game and looked much improved after last week’s opening tournament. Now we have to see if we can continue to play that way.”
