Muleriders Cornerback, Unamba Receives Second All-America Nod

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas senior cornerback Don Unamba (Hurst, Texas) picked up his second national accolade of the postseason in being named Thursday as a first team selection on the 2012 D2Football.com All-America Team.

Unamba was earlier honored as a member of the AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) All-America team, and was recently named first team on the Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 team.

This past season Unamba led the Great American Conference and ranked second in Division II with a school-record 17 pass breakups, led the league and ranked eighth nationally with 20 passes defended, averaging 1.82 per game, and ranked third in the GAC with three interceptions for 66 yards in return. 

He started all 11 games, finishing fifth on the team with 47 tackles (37 solo), including 1.5 for six yards in loss, and also blocked two kicks and recovered a fumble.
