ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Ouachita women’s tennis team went to work on the Lady Reddies of Henderson State University on Tuesday afternoon, capturing a 7-2 win in Great American Conference play.
The Lady Tigers won two of the three doubles match-ups, before taking five of the six singles match-ups en route to the win.
Valeriya Mansvetova and Kourtney Chumbley took an 8-5 win over Henderson’s Sarah Camras and Brittany Harness to kick off doubles action. Kristin Bodine and Lilia Sokolova followed that with a 9-8 (7-3) win over Tyler Reaves and Jenny Cecotti.
The Lady Reddies got their only win of doubles play in the third match-up, when Emily Eggleston and Monica Woodward defeated Ouachita’s pair of McKenzie Cranford and Camila Ferriera by a score of 8-5.
In singles play, the Lady Tigers reeled off three consecutive wins, including a 7-5, 6-1 win for Mansvetova over Cecotti, a 6-1, 4-6, 10-4 win for Chumbley over Camras and a 6-2, 6-2 win for Bodine over Reaves.
Henderson’s Brittany Harness was able to record the team’s only singles victory, defeating Sokolova by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Ouachita’s players closed out the match with another two wins, coming in a 6-0, 6-1 win for Samantha Street over Woodward and a 6-4, 6-3 win for Cranford over Eggleston.
The Lady Tigers will take on Southern Nazarene at home on Friday. Action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
