UA Women’s Golf Competes Around the World

FAYETTEVILLE — Several members of the University of Arkansas women’s golf team are taking part in tournaments this week.

Freshmen Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia welcome teammates Emily Tubert, Emma Lavy and Olivia Lavy to their home country for the LXXXVIII Mexican Women’s Amatuer Championship Jan. 8-11, at the Club de Golf Bellavista in Calocaya, Mexico.

Lopez is coming off a solid performance helping Team Mexico to a runner-up finish at the Copa de las Americas last weekend in Florida.

Sophomore Hally Leadbetter is competing in her home state of Florida this week as well. Leadbetter is taking part in the SundCoast Ladies Series in Orlando, Fla. She opened with a four-over 77 in the first round yesterday with play continuing through Wednesday.
