Reddies Fifth After Day One of the GAC Golf Championships

Henderson State posted a team score of 306 and is in fifth-place after the opening round of the Great American Conference Golf Championships in Hot Springs, Ark.

The Reddies are 10 strokes behind tournament leader Arkansas Tech. The Wonder Boys turned in a team score of 296, followed by Southern Nazarene (302), Southwestern Oklahoma (303) and Harding (304).

Arkansas-Monticello follows Henderson State in sixth-place (309), with Southern Arkansas in seventh (311), and Southeastern Oklahoma eighth (312).

Ouachita Baptist (313) is in 9th-place, followed by East Central (314) and Northwestern Oklahoma (324).

Matt Jennings leads the Reddies and is tied for seventh-place after an opening round of 74 on the par 72, 6,713 yard Hot Springs Country Club Arlington Course.

Jennings compiled 11 pars, three birdies and shot even par on the back nine.

Baxter Woosley follows in 15th-place with a 76 after having 13 pars. Woosley shot one-under par, 35 on the back nine.

Jared Black and Wess Webb are both tied for 24th-place having rounds of 78. Black had eight pars and four birdies for the round, while Webb had 12 pars.

Joseph Hausberger posted a score of 80 and is tied for 33rd-place out of 55 players.

Drew Greenwood of Ouachita Baptist and George Adams of Southern Arkansas are the individual leaders with rounds of 69, 3-under par.

The second round of the GAC Championships will take place on Monday beginning at 8 a.m., with the final 18 holes being played on Tuesday.
