CONWAY, Ark. – Hendrix College junior center fielder Collin Radack and junior pitcher Jacob Perschke were named the Southern Athletic Association Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively on Monday.
Radack hit .455 (10-for-22), scored six runs, drove in five and hit three doubles and a triple as the Warriors started the season 3-2. The Austin, Texas native also stole two bases and recorded two sac flies. He has a hit in every game this season, extending his streak to 10, dating back to last year. Radack recorded three hits and two doubles in a win over East Texas Baptist on Feb. 9. In game two against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, Radack went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two sacrifice flies.
In two starts this season, Perschke has a 1-0 record and a 1.29 earned run average with 17 strikeouts and only one walk in 14.0 innings. The Katy, Texas hurler picked up a win in the Warriors’ season opener against Willamette, going five innings and fanning four, while allowing just one hit and one earned run. In Friday’s no decision at Mary Hardin-Baylor, Perschke struck out 13, and allowed just one run through nine innings.
The Warriors will travel to Clarksville, Ark. on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. game at the University of the Ozarks.
