Team effort leads to upset of No. 12 Penn State

Razorback Swimming

FAYETTEVILLE -The Razorbacks were in a tight race with No. 12 Penn State for throughout the meet. There were more lead changes than anyone could count and it came down to the final race of the meet.

The Arkansas 400 freestyle relay team of Nina Drolc, Anna Mayfield, Maddie Monroe and Susanna White took to the block with the meet on the line.

Arkansas out-swam the Nittany Lions in each leg of the race, finishing ahead of Penn State by nearly a whole body length. It was three freshmen and one sophomore who teamed up to swim the second-fastest time in school history, 3:21.63, and to take the win on Senior Day.

The Razorbacks will return to the pool on Friday when the Razorbacks (5-1, 2-1 SEC) travel to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks and the Florida State Seminoles in a double-dual meet.
