NEW YORK, N.Y. — Former University of Arkansas at Monticello defensive back Eric Crocker has signed to play for the NFL’s New York Jets, announced this past Friday by the Jets’ front office.
Crocker signed with the Jets after playing 18 games for the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League during the 2012 season. Crocker recorded 70.5 total tackles, including 60 solo tackles and an assisted tackle for a loss. He also had three interceptions, 13 pass breakups, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
The Stockton, Calif. native played the previous two seasons in a UAM uniform, making a total of 22 appearances in the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Crocker started in the defensive backfield during the 2011 season, totaling 38 tackles, three interceptions, seven pass breakups and one blocked kick. In 11 games and three starts during the 2010 season, Crocker totaled 18 tackles and four pass deflections.
Prior to the move to Southeast Arkansas, Crocker was an all-conference honoree in football and track at California’s Modesto Junior College.
