Golden Lions Basketball Run-Off From Braves Live On ESPN U

Pine Bluff, AR- It was lights camera action, as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions played host to Alcorn State University and ESPNU at the H.O. Clemmons Arena. 

ASU got on the score board first, 2-0, but UAPB would find their groove and would take a three point lead, 7-4, on an alley-oop dunk from Tevin Hammond to Davon Haynes, at the 16:39 mark that would set the Golden Lions a pace that would give them a 17 point cushion at halftime, 37-20.

In the second half the Golden Lions turn up the heat and push the lead to as much as 37 points, behind the combined efforts of a Golden Lion’s basketball team that saw four players register in double figures en route to an 80-52 final.

Terrell Kennedy would lead the way for the Golden Lions with 15 points; he also grabbed 9 rebounds and had 9 assists. Davon Haynes had 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting with seven rebounds. Lazabian Jackson turned in 12 points, while Mitchell Anderson put up 11. 

ASU’s Anthony Nieves scored 18 points for the Brave’s tonight, and Marquiz Baker registered 13.

The Golden Lions hit the road next weekend with stops in Houston for a Saturday match-up against Texas Southern; and a Monday wrap-up in Prairie View against Prairie View A&M.
