Kennedy, Haynes, and Broughton Receive All- SWAC Honors

Pine Bluff, AR- Friday, the Southwestern Athletic Conference released its 2013 All- SWAC selections with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff having three Golden Lions to receive post season recognition. Terrell Kennedy, a senior form Jackson, MS, (1st team All-SWAC), Davon Haynes, a junior from Detroit, MI, (2nd team) and Daniel Broughton, a junior form Pine Bluff, (3rd team) round out this year’s selections.

Kennedy, who led the Golden Lions in scoring, (13.3 avg.) and finished in the top 15 in the SWAC. Kennedy was also second on the team in rebounding behind Haynes.

Haynes, who is finishing up his first year playing in the SWAC after transferring, was second on the team in scoring, (11.9 avg.) and first in rebounding with (6.9 avg.). Haynes also led the Golden Lions in total field goal percentage, (.504 avg.).

Broughton, the hometown native, recorded a solid season for the Golden Lions, as helped UAPB to second place tie, with 12 regular season victories. Broughton averaged 7.2 points, while grabbing 4.2 rebounds.

In other sports wire services unrelated to the SWAC, College Sports Madness selected Kennedy to its 2013 All- SWAC 1st team, and Haynes received second team honors. College Hoops Daily selected Kennedy to its 2013 All- SWAC, while head coach George Ivory was selected as the 2013 Coach of the Year.
