Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Head Coach Carol Halford and the Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles had a large task at hand after the 2011-2012 season. The team graduated six seniors off a team that went 17-10 and hosted an American Midwest Tournament game. Despite twelve new faces on the Lady Eagles team, WBC finished fourth in the AMC and will host a tournament contest for the second straight year.
“It shows the success of our program and our ability to recruit and rebuild our program,” said Assistant Coach John Mayberry.
Williams finished with a regular season record of 16-14 overall and 9-9 in the AMC. They will host the fifth seeded Trojans from Hannibal-LaGrange University on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., in WBC’s Southerland-Mabee Center.
“It means a lot to the girls to have their families and fellow students in the stands in the games,” added Mayberry.
Admission prices are set by the AMC and will be five dollars for adults and two dollars for children under 12 years old. Due to conference restrictions, Williams is unable to accept Arkansas Activity Association or Eagle Booster Club passes for tournament contests.
